BMW DME Bench Unlock Software for GEN1/GEN2 S55, S58, B46, B48, B58 (F & G Series) and Toyota Supra A90

This software is designed for use with tools capable of performing a full bench read on MG1/MEV17 ECUs, including Foxflash, KT200, Padflash, and other ECU bench tools.

Compatibility and Vehicle Coverage

Supports BMW DMEs (including Dealer Patch Locked units or those manufactured between June 2019 and May 2020) across the following models:

• BMW F & G Series: M340i, M2, M3, M4, F80, F82, F83, F87, F90 M5
• Toyota Supra A90

Note: DMEs produced after 2020 cannot be unlocked via software and require a hardware unlock through FEMTO.

Why Unlock Your ECU?

Many BMW (and Toyota Supra A90) F/G series vehicles come with ECUs locked from the factory or via updates, preventing tuning through the OBD port. Popular tuning solutions like Bootmod3 or MHD require an unlocked ECU to function via OBD. This software enables tuners to provide unlocking services—typically priced around €200 per DME—by performing a bench read, applying the unlock patch, and writing the modified file back to the ECU.

V2 Updates

The updated version includes the ability to open MD1/MG1 EPROM files and automatically decipher ISN numbers for both the DME and EGS. The software provides hex addresses for verification in a hex editor—particularly useful when security ISN keys are needed for coding new modules or keys.

OBD Flashing Support

Free software is included to enable flashing via OBD using an affordable D-KCAN interface. Supported ECUs for direct OBD-II flashing include:

• N54 (MSD80/MSD81)
• N55 (MEVD17.2.x)
• N52 (MSV70/MSV80)

For the following ECUs, a bench unlock patch is required before OBD flashing is possible:

• B58 (MG1/MD1)
• S55 (MEVD17.2.x)
• B48 (MG1/MD1)
• S58 (MG1/MD1)

This capability makes remote tuning feasible—simply return the unlocked ECU to the customer and flash future tunes via OBD.

The software license is locked to a single PC and is non-transferable. Lifetime updates are provided free of charge. License cost is per PC.
