Master vs. Slave Tool: Key Differences

Master Tool

A Master Tool provides non-encrypted files, allowing you to modify them yourself or send them to any tuning file provider. Any binary-compatible editing software can be used to edit files read with Autotuner.

Slave Tool

A Slave Tool reads and writes encrypted files that can only be modified by a designated master (a specific file provider assigned at purchase). Your Slave Tool is permanently linked to this master.

Any Slave Tool can be remotely upgraded to a Master Tool if the following conditions are met:

• Your current master provides written approval for the switch.
• You pay the price difference between the Slave and Master versions.
