Special Functions of VIDENT iMax4305 OPEL

Oil Service Reset
Service Lamp Reset:
- If the service lamp is illuminated, service must be performed on the vehicle. After servicing, reset the driving mileage or time to turn off the service lamp and initiate a new service cycle.
- Use VIDENT tools to reset the service lamp after changing engine oil or components that monitor oil life.
Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) System Maintenance
Brake Pad Replacement:
- When the brake pad wear sensor line is triggered, a signal is sent to the onboard computer indicating replacement is needed. After replacing the brake pads, a reset must be performed; otherwise, the vehicle may trigger an alarm.
- Reset is required in the following cases:
- The brake pad and wear sensor are replaced.
- The brake pad indicator lamp is on.
- The brake pad sensor circuit was shorted and has been repaired.
- The servo motor is replaced.
Battery Replace Test (BRT)
Battery Matching:
- Use the diagnostic device to reset the vehicle’s battery monitoring unit, clear previous fault data related to low battery charge, and re-establish battery matching based on current battery parameters.
- Battery matching is necessary when:
- The main battery is replaced. This clears old charge deficiency data and prevents false readings that could disable auxiliary functions like automatic start/stop, one-touch sunroof, or power window auto operation.
- The battery monitoring sensor is serviced. Re-matching ensures accurate detection of battery usage data and prevents incorrect instrument panel displays.
Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Regeneration Control System
DPF Regeneration:
- DPF regeneration clears particulate matter (PM) from the filter through high-temperature combustion, fuel additives, or catalytic methods to maintain optimal trap performance.
- Regeneration is required when:
- The backpressure sensor is replaced.
- The PM trap is removed or replaced.
- The fuel additive injector is removed or replaced.
- The catalytic oxidizer is removed or replaced.
- The DPF regeneration MIL is on and maintenance has been completed.
- The DPF regeneration control module is replaced.
Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) – Electronic Throttle Reset
Throttle Matching:
- Use the diagnostic tool to initialize the throttle actuator, resetting the ECU’s learning values to initial status for precise control of intake air volume.
- Throttle matching is required when:
- The ECU is replaced and lacks stored throttle characteristics.
- The ECU was disconnected and memory lost.
- The throttle assembly is replaced.
- The intake passage is removed or replaced, affecting idle control.
- The throttle body is cleaned, altering airflow characteristics despite unchanged potentiometer settings.
Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) Calibration
Steering Angle Reset:
- Resetting the steering angle involves establishing the vehicle’s straight-line position as a reference zero point, allowing the ECU to accurately calculate left and right steering angles.
- Calibration is required after:
- Replacing the steering angle sensor.
- Replacing steering components (e.g., gearbox, column, tie rod, knuckle).
- Performing four-wheel alignment.
- Vehicle collision repair affecting chassis alignment.
ABS Bleeding
- Perform ABS bleeding when air is present in the ABS system to restore proper brake sensitivity.
- This function is required after replacing:
- ABS computer
- ABS pump
- Brake master cylinder
- Brake cylinder
- Brake lines
- Brake fluid
OBDII Functions – Compatible with All OBDII Vehicles

Note: The OBDII functions are not limited to VAUXHALL OPEL vehicles and support most OBDII/EOBD protocols including CAN, ISO9141, KWP2000, J1850 VPW, and J1850 PWM.
- Read Codes: Retrieve generic (P0, P2, P3, U0) and manufacturer-specific (P1, P3, U1) permanent and pending Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
- Erase Codes: Clear both generic and manufacturer-specific DTCs.
- Determine MIL: Turn off the Check Engine Light (MIL) after clearing codes and reset system monitors.
- Data Stream: View live PCM data stream with color graphing and fast refresh rates for enhanced diagnostics.
- Freeze Frame Data: Access a snapshot of vehicle conditions at the moment an emission-related fault occurred.
- I/M Readiness Test: Check the status of emissions systems to confirm readiness for inspection and maintenance testing.
- O2 Sensor Test: Retrieve and view results of the most recent O2 sensor tests from the vehicle’s onboard computer.
- Evap System Test: Initiate a leak test on the EVAP system. Always consult the vehicle’s service manual before starting the test.
- On-Board Monitoring: Review diagnostic monitoring results for specific components and systems.
- Vehicle Information: Display VIN, CVN, and other vehicle identification details.
- Comprehensive Help: Includes OBD parameters, mode explanations, DTC search, and additional support features.
Compatibility: Works with most European OBDII-compliant petrol vehicles from 2001 onwards and diesel vehicles from 2004 onwards.
