DiagLink goes beyond basic systems like ABS, SRS, Engine, and Transmission—it also supports Body, Chassis, Powertrain, and more. You can quickly check the operational status of various vehicle systems by reading codes, clearing codes, and viewing live data.
Special Functions
1. Oil Reset
The Engine Oil Life System calculates when to change the engine oil and filter based on vehicle usage. An oil change is required whenever indicated by the display and according to the recommended maintenance schedule. After every oil change, the system must be reset so it can calculate the next oil change interval. If oil is changed before the service indicator activates, the system should still be reset.
IMPORTANT: Always reset the engine oil life to 100% after every oil change.
NOTE: All required maintenance work must be completed before resetting service indicators. Failure to do so may result in incorrect service values and cause Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) to be stored by the relevant control module.
NOTE: For some vehicles, the scan tool can reset additional service lights (e.g., maintenance cycle, service interval). For example, BMW service reset includes engine oil, spark plugs, front/rear brakes, coolant, particle filter, brake fluid, microfilter, vehicle inspection, exhaust emission inspection, and vehicle check.
2. EPB (Electronic Parking Brake)
The EPB function supports safe and effective maintenance of electronic braking systems. Applications include deactivating/activating the brake control system, assisting with brake fluid control, brake diagnostics, opening and closing brake pads, setting brakes after disc or pad replacement, and reading/clearing EPB/SBC Trouble Codes. It can also retrieve fault code information from the ECU.
