GODIAG BMW CAS1/CAS2 Mech-Key Test Platform
The GODIAG BMW CAS1/CAS2 Mech-Key Test Platform is a specialized tool designed for BMW locksmiths, maintenance engineers, and programming technicians working with CAS1 and CAS2 systems. This device enables seamless integration with various key programming tools such as Xhorse Key Tool Plus Pad, Xhorse VVDI 2, BMW VVDI BIM Tool, Autel IM608, CGDI BMW, Lonsdor devices, and OBDSTAR equipment to perform all-key-lost scenarios or additional Key Programming. Please note: this platform supports mechanical keys only.
Important Notice
The GODIAG BMW CAS1/CAS2 Mech-Key Test Platform does not support semi-intelligent smart keys (CAS2) and is incompatible with diagnostic tools such as GT100 and GT100+. For semi-intelligent smart key CAS2 applications, please use the dedicated semi-intelligent smart key detection platform.

Synchronization Detection: CAS2 Module and Mechanical Key
Follow these steps to check synchronization:
- Connect the CAS2 module according to the connection diagram.
- Place the mechanical key into the key sensing area.
- Connect the power supply.
- Press the start switch once to power on the CAS and initiate automatic sync detection; press again to power off.
Synchronization Indicators:
When the start switch is pressed, the Power indicator lights up. If the key is synchronized with the CAS2 module:
- The CAS module’s key induction coil indicator flashes regularly.
- The IMMO synchronization detection indicator lights up.
- The internal buzzer sounds.
If the key is not synchronized:
- The key induction coil indicator flashes quickly for 2 seconds only.
- The IMMO light remains off and the buzzer does not sound.
- Press and hold the analog start/stop button. After 3 seconds, the IMMO synchronization detection indicator turns off, followed by the INDUC sensor indicator. Upon release, the IMMO light turns back on and the INDUC sensor indicator begins flashing.
CAS1 Module and Key Synchronization Detection
- Connect the device as shown in the wiring diagram. Use a 12V 2.5A power supply—lower capacity may fail to drive the CAS1 module. Do not connect the CAS2 module.
- Press the start switch (the START-STOP indicator on the CAS will illuminate).
- Insert the key into the CAS1 module.
- Press the CAS1 key. If synchronized, the key will lock in place. If not synchronized, it will automatically eject.
Programming & Diagnostic Connection Guide
Using Xhorse VVDI2 for BMW CAS2 Mechanical Key Programming
- Connect the CAS2 module and key programming device per the connection diagram. Press the start button to supply power to the CAS2 module.
- Select “Key Learn — CAS/EWS Information — Connect — Read EEPROM”.
Note: Remove the key before connecting. Do not perform synchronization detection prior to reading data. If a synchronized key is detected by the CAS module, data reading will fail. Simply press the start button to power the module.
Save to File...
To read or modify CAS mileage, navigate to the “Read KM” menu. The system also supports reading CAS code-DME.
- Proceed to key programming: Select “Key Learn — CAS Key Learn — Connect”, then choose “Get Key Info” and “Save Key Info”.
- Select an unused key position. Choose the “Prepare Dealer Key with Programmer” option and generate the key using the VVDI2 programmer.
Important: Do not place the key in the GODIAG test platform's sensing area during key generation, or the dealer key will not be created.
- After programming, place the new key into the Godiag BMW CAS1/CAS2 Mech-Key Test Platform sensor port for synchronization testing. Refer to the earlier synchronization detection steps.
If the new key fails synchronization, perform CAS-DME or CAS-ELV synchronization via the VVDI2 menu:
Navigate to “Key Learn — CAS/EWS Information — Connect — Synch DME-CAS or Synch CAS-ELV”.
Note: During synchronization, the key must be placed in the VVDI2 device’s key sensing area.
Using Xhorse VVDI2 for BMW CAS1 Key Programming
- Connect the CAS1 module and programming device according to the diagram. Press the START switch on the Godiag test platform—the POW indicator lights up, confirming power output. The CAS1 mode indicator should also illuminate.
Power Requirement: Use a 12V 2.5A power supply; otherwise, the CAS1 module may not function.
- Select “Key Learn — CAS/EWS Information — Connect — Read EEPROM”.
Caution: Do not insert the key during this step. If data cannot be read, disconnect and reconnect the device while powering the platform.
Note: Avoid performing a synchronization test before reading data, as it can block communication. If tested, disconnect power and re-establish the connection.
Save to File...
To access or modify CAS mileage, use the “Read KM” menu. CAS code-DME can also be read.
- Begin key programming: Go to “Key Learn — CAS Key Learn — Connect”, then select “Get Key Info” and “Save Key Info”.
- Select an unused key slot. Ensure you select “Prepare Dealer Key with Programmer” and generate the key using the VVDI2 programmer.
Note: Dealer keys cannot be generated through the CAS1 module socket or the GODIAG test platform’s sensor.
- Once the dealer key is programmed, insert it into the CAS1 module’s key socket for testing. Follow the previously described CAS1 synchronization detection procedure.
If the IMMO light does not illuminate, go to the VVDI2 menu: “Key Learn — CAS/EWS Information — Connect — Synch DME-CAS or Synch CAS-ELV” to synchronize.
Note: Place the key in the VVDI2 device’s sensing area during synchronization.
